In terms of preparing for your move, there are a number of things you can do to prepare before your removalists arrive, to ensure the removal process is as smooth and efficient as possible:
- Prepare
we work on an hourly rate, so the better prepared you are and the more you can do yourself, the cheaper your move will be. It is essential to ensure there is a clear path for the removalists to work safely
- Packing
please ensure any small items that you would like the removalists to take are packed in boxes, with fragile boxes clearly labelled and heavy items e.g. books, packed in wine/book boxes. Also remember that boxes of uniform size make it far easier for our removalists to pack the truck and ensure a quick removal process.
- Empty
please ensure drawers, cupboards, bookshelves which you would like us to move are emptied to save time.
- Disassemble
disassembling and re-assembling furniture is one of the most time consuming jobs for removalists and generally speaking relatively easy to do. Beds and some desks if already disassembled will save you both time and money off your removal bill, although we are more than happy to do both disassembly and reassembly if required.
- Disconnect
disconnecting washing machines, TV’s, computers and surround sound speakers, all assist in making it easier for our removalists to get to the larger, heavier furniture.
Please bear in mind that although our trained removalists are capable of doing all of the above tasks, if you are working on a budget, these are just some of the areas that can save you time and money when moving house.
